"Ethical Data Science: Challenges in a Responsible Innovation"
In today's increasingly data-driven world, companies are adopting advanced data science techniques to optimize decision-making, improve operations, and fuel innovation. However, this rapid technological evolution brings with it critical ethical challenges that require immediate attention. This presentation explores the role of ethical data science, highlighting how organizations can integrate innovation with responsibility towards their stakeholders and society. We will address fundamental issues such as data privacy, algorithmic fairness, transparency, and accountability, while also analyzing the risks associated with bias, discrimination, and data misuse. Practical strategies for incorporating ethical principles into business processes, promoting a culture of accountability, and managing the risks of new technologies, including those related to generative AI, will be illustrated. Through concrete examples and practical insights, this presentation offers useful tools for aligning Data Science efforts with ethical values, building innovation that is responsible, ethical, and sustainable.
